Recently, I’ve found that music I stumble upon by accident tends to stay with me longer than the songs I intentionally seek out. Sometimes, I hear a track from a group I’ve never heard of—the arrangement is solid, the vocals are well-matched, and something about it clicks. So I look up the song, only to find the name is still unfamiliar. In those moments, I save the track because there’s something in it that feels worth remembering

Some songs pass by with a simple “that was nice.” But others stay in my mind much longer, for reasons I can’t quite explain. More often than not, it’s not about technical perfection. It’s about a certain attitude that comes through.

A song with traces of focus, care, and quiet determination naturally resonates with the listener without needing explanation. And when I experience this, I can’t help but hope that more people will discover it. Though I may have limited influence, I sincerely hope that good music spreads widely and endures over time. Whether famous or not, what ultimately moves people seems to be sincerity.

Listening to songs like these often prompts me to reflect on my own efforts, too. Do I dedicate the same focus and care to my work? I’ve always greatly admired those who commit themselves fully to tasks without seeking attention. And sometimes, music reminds me of that inner strength.

요즘은 직접 찾아서 듣는 음악보다, 어느 날 우연히 흘러나온 음악이 더 오래 남는 경우가 많습니다. 처음 들어보는 그룹인데도 곡이 단단하고 목소리와 편곡이 자연스럽게 어우러질 때면 ‘이건 누구지?’ 하는 마음에 제목을 확인하게 됩니다. 그럴 때 보면 생각보다 덜 알려진 팀일 때가 많습니다. 그런 음악은 조용히 저장해 두는 편입니다.

어떤 곡은 ‘좋다’는 감정으로 스쳐 지나가지만 어떤 곡은 이유 없이 오래 머릿속에 남습니다. 그 차이는 완성도의 문제가 아니라 그 안에서 느껴지는 ‘태도’ 때문일지도, 모르겠습니다. 곡을 만들고 녹음하고 정리하는 모든 과정 속에 진심으로 집중한 흔적이 고스란히 담긴 음악은 듣는 사람에게도 자연스럽게 전해지는 것 같습니다. 그런 곡을 들을 때면 괜시리 뿌듯하고 그 팀이 더 많은 사람에게 알려졌으면 좋겠다는 생각마저 듭니다.

어떤 이름이든 상관없이 결국 사람을 움직이는 건, 진심이 담긴 태도라는 걸 음악이 먼저 가르쳐 주는 것 같습니다. 그리고 문득 저도, 제가 하는 일에 그런 태도를 지니고 있는지를 돌아보게 됩니다. 어디서든 묵묵히 자신의 일을 다해내는 분들을 늘, 존경합니다. 음악은 그런 마음을 조용히 다시 떠올리게 해 줍니다.
