I hold a specific belief about karma—or work, in its deeper sense: every cause has its effect, and nothing we say or do simply disappears. Every action or word leaves a trace, which eventually finds its way back to us.

That’s why, at times, I feel the need to release negative karma—to cleanse it, in a way. To look inward and reflect, with the intention of creating positive karma moving forward by being more mindful and sincere.

I also recognize the importance of words. Every word, every phrase we utter carries more meaning than we often realize. It has the power to heal or hurt, to build trust or erode it.

So in everyday life, I tend to be reserved with my words. Often, silent contemplation feels more appropriate than speaking just for the sake of it.

But there is one clear exception. When discussing topics I truly understand—something I care deeply about—I can talk endlessly, with energy and conviction. In those moments, it feels like I’m performing a one-person show, driven not by ego but by passion and clarity.

I believe that my every word, my every action, is a fragment of who I am becoming. And I want to handle each of these fragments with care.

저는 '업(業)'에 대해 나름의 생각을 가지고 있습니다. 세상 일에는 원인이 있고, 그에 따른 결과가 따른다는 것을 어느 정도 믿는 편입니다. 어떤 말, 어떤 행동도 결코 사라지지 않고, 어디선가 반드시 그 흔적을 남기는 거 같습니다.

때로는 업을 조용히 털어낼 필요도 있다고 느끼기도 합니다. 내가 지닌 것들을 돌아보고, 앞으로는 더 좋은 업을 쌓아가고 싶다는 마음이 들 때도 많습니다. 더 신중하게, 더 선하게.

저는 ‘말’이라는 것의 무게도 잘 알고 있습니다. 말 한 마디, 그 단어 하나하나가 생각보다 큰 울림과 결과를 낳는다는 사실을 배웠기에 평소에는 말을 아끼는 편입니다. 생각 없는 말보다, 차라리 조용한 배려가 나을 때도 많다고 믿기 때문입니다.

하지만 한 가지 예외가 있다면, 그건 제가 정말 잘 아는 분야, 정말 사랑하는 주제에 대해서 이야기할 때라고 말씀드릴 수 있겠습니다. 그럴 땐 저도 모르게 열정이 솟아나고, 시간 가는 줄 모르고 마치 무대 위에서 혼자 쇼를 하듯 이야기를 풀어나갑니다. 그게 저의 방식이기도 합니다.

모든 말과 행동은 결국 나라는 사람을 만들어가는 조각이라 생각하며, 그 조각 하나하나를 아끼며 살아가려고 노력하고 있습니다.
